These are Decove’s standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). They are published so they can be read by anyone and held against us, and they restate — in one place, in plain terms — commitments our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy already make.
Child sexual abuse and exploitation are prohibited on Decove absolutely and without exception, in every form: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), the sexualisation of minors, grooming, sextortion, or any use of Decove to approach or harm a child. Content is removed and the accounts responsible are terminated.
You must be at least 14 to use Decove, or older where your country sets a higher age; Decove is not directed at children, and if you believe a child is using it, contact us and we will delete the account. Every connection on Decove is mutual — there are no public profiles, no discovery, and no way to see or message a person who has not accepted you as a friend.
Inside the app, every post, reply, direct message and profile can be reported from its overflow menu (long-press, for a reply or a message). The report carries the reported content with it, sealed so that only a human reviewer can open it. Because Decove is end-to-end encrypted we cannot proactively scan content, and we will not pretend otherwise: a report is how something becomes visible to us at all, which is why reporting is built into every surface of the app. From outside the app, write to abuse@decove.app.
Every report is reviewed by a human within 24 hours. Child-safety reports are acted on the day we see them, ahead of everything else. Where a report is substantiated we remove the content, terminate the accounts responsible, and involve the authorities where the law requires it or the safety of a child warrants it.
